    Introducing: Ratri & Pavlina

It was a daring attempt and effort to create a film version of the epic novel by the noted writer Fakir Mohan Senapati. Although the film was not a commercial success, Parbati Ghose received much acclaim for its artistic presentation. As Gour Ghose was unable to participate in this project for personal reasons, she took complete charge. Parbati assumed the roles of producer, director, and actor, and she did justice to all aspects of the mammoth project.

The entire shooting was held in Olosing, a prosperous village in the Khurda district. The warm hospitality extended by the residents of the village to the entire unit and crew was praiseworthy. The village Zamindar Dasarathi Patnaik’s daughter, Kalyani Patnaik, graciously opened her home for Parbati’s stay throughout the duration of the shoot.
