Good fortune prevailed when Gour Ghose was offered the lead role in the Odia film “Amari Gaan Jhua”.
This film was produced by Naren Mitra, under the banner of Utkal Chitra Pratisthan. He was the owner of Capital Cinema, Cuttack.

Incidentally, Rai Gour was also cast in the lead in “Pon Rokhya” (the Bengali version), along with Chitra Mandal and Sadhan Sarkar.

The screenplay and direction for both versions were by Binoy Banerjee.
