Good fortune prevailed when Gour Ghose was offered the lead role in the Odia film “Amari Gaan Jhua” by Naren Mitra, the owner of Capital Cinema, Cuttack, under the banner Utkal Chitra Pratisthan.

Incidentally, Rai Gour was also cast in the lead in “Pon Rokhya” (the Bengali version), along with Chitra Mandal and Sadhan Sarkar.

The screenplay and direction for both versions were by Binoy Banerjee.
