It was a daring attempt and effort to create a film version of this epic novel by the noted writer Fakir Mohan Senapati.
Though the film was not a commercial success, Parbati Ghose received much acclaim for its artistic presentation.
Since Gour Ghose was unable to participate in this project for personal reasons, she took the entire reins into her hands.
Parbati donned the mantle of producer, director, and actor, and she did justice to all aspects of this mammoth project.

The entire shooting was held in Olosing, a prosperous village in the Khurda district.
The warm hospitality extended by the residents of the village to the entire unit and crew was praiseworthy.
The village Zamindar Dasarathi Patnaik’s daughter, Kalyani Patnaik, graciously opened her home for Parbati’s stay throughout the duration of the shoot.
